High-speed vehicle pursuits are both dangerous and potentially expensive in terms of the likelihood of property damage and personal injury. Fiore Industries, Inc. has shown that the intelligent application of modulated High Power Microwave (HPM) energy offers a safer option to the arrest of fugitives than conventional techniques. We are currently working with the NIJ to:

• Assess feasibility of using HPM to immobilize engines
• Perform effects measurements, collecting information on effects versus frequency and other waveform parameters
• Optimize waveform for most general applications
• Field in a light-weight integrated package
